It Might Be Summer, But It’s Never Too Early To Prepare For Winter
We hate to mention winter so early on in the year, but you really will thank us for suggesting that you take immediate measures to better insulate your home in preparation for our chilliest season.
You don’t want to be caught cold by the weather when temperatures start to dip, and it’ll be absolutely no time before they do.
So that you’re not left shivering indoors once winter rears its ugly head and stung by expensive fuel costs, here’s how you can be assured of a wonderfully snug home setting:
Organise a boiler service
Boilers should be serviced annually and summer is the ideal time to have yours inspected by a qualified heating engineer as you’re probably barely using it at the moment.
The engineer will be able to identify any potential issues with the boiler and fix them, whilst also checking that it is running as efficiently as it should be.
A quality service should minimise the chances of your boiler breaking down at a really bad time, leaving you frantically covering up to keep warm.
Replace your old windows and doors
Do you feel a hint of a draught coming through any of your existing windows and doors? That’s enough to tell you that they need replacing.
Our new EXTREME window range would be a fine window replacement as it comes supplied A+ energy rated as standard, and the energy saving properties of our replacement doors are no less impressive.
Draughts will be gone forever and far less of the heat generated by your boiler will be lost from the house.
Check your roofline is OK
The word ‘roofline’ is a collective term used for the fascias, soffits, bargeboards, cladding and gutters attached to a house. Its chief purpose is to stop water getting into the house. Simply way to replace your gutter is to check more here and get the best gutter replacement services.
When any part of it becomes damaged, it enhances the risk of serious water damage being caused.
You can try and repair any problems with old wooden roofline, but they’re only likely to resurface in the future.
You’re much better off completely replacing your roofline for our weather-resistant UPVC roofline so that your property will be fully guarded against the winter weather.
